On Twitter, the most popular sacrifice for Lent this year is giving up chocolate, so for today I thought I’d post this wall hanging made from fair trade chocolate wrappers:
The wrappers were collected by artist Lynn Krueger and her chocolate-eating friends, then machine-sewn onto felt. I was delighted to see this in the MCC office at 50 Kent in Kitchener, Ontario, when I was there earlier this year. Here’s another photo with more detail:
If you’ve given up chocolate for Lent, well, you have 27 more days to go…. After that, I highly recommend the Fair Trade Dark Chocolate 🙂

April, this is delightful! A breath of fresh air (or should I say chocolate!) from our hometown (We lived in Kitchener/Waterloo for over 20 years!)
I’m glad I could give you this glimpse of your hometown. I was there just briefly for meetings and would have loved to see more.
That is a really neat piece of art. Thanks for sharing it.
I thought it quite striking – glad you could enjoy it too!
