Party Time! Sacred Pauses Blog Carnival Begins

Last week I was very glad to start my blog tour with an interview at Shirley Showalter’s blog—Who Else Wants Simplicity? she asked in her title, and I was so blessed by the comments and interaction. Thanks again for hosting, Shirley, and thank you to all who joined us there. The second stop of the blog tour is coming up later this week, so please stay tuned!

In the meantime, today I’d like to introduce the Sacred Pauses blog carnival. Think of “Sacred Pauses” as a blog prompt that you can take in whatever direction you choose. Here are just a few examples:

  • What sacred pauses have you experienced?
  • How have sacred pauses been important to you?
  • What are some of the barriers or challenges? What are some of the delights?
  • What does it mean to share sacred pauses with family/friends/others?
  • How might sacred pauses relate to your special area of interest—if you’re concerned about church or theology, about family or peacemaking, about writing or faith or whatever your interest is, what role do you see for sacred pauses?

If you have a blog, I invite you to write your own blog post on this sacred pauses theme, then click on the blue frog below to link up and share your post. Taking part in a blog carnival doesn’t have to take time or energy away from your own blog, and it’s a simple and effective way to share your blog with others and widen your circle of readers.

There’s even a Sacred Pauses blog badge below (designed by Reuben Graham who also designed the cover of my book)—please feel free to use the badge as an illustration for your blog post, or you can put it in your sidebar as a personal reminder to pause (doesn’t that bench look inviting?).

If you don’t have a blog, I invite you to journal or simply think about sacred pauses, and participate by leaving a comment below.

Thank you to Katherine W. Pershey for introducing me to the blog carnival idea.

I hope you enjoy playing with the idea of sacred pauses, and I look forward to reading your thoughts!
