April, I just now saw this post, as we were on holidays in Ontario. This artist reminds me a bit of Ray Dirks at the Mennonite Heritage Gallery, and his purpose and goal in encouraging people to express their spirituality through their art work.
I would never have made the connection between the two, but now that you mention it, I can understand a commonality in purpose.
