Have you seen the cover of my soon-to-be new book? It’s not scheduled for release until September 4, 2018, but I can’t resist sharing it!
The book started as an article about self-care on the job: Is Self-Care Part of Your Paid Employment and Should It Be? But it’s become much bigger than that, for it embraces self-care as part of healthy living, not only as part of employment.
Four Gifts is for anyone who wonders how to understand self-care in light of Jesus’ call to self-surrender, for anyone who longs to go beyond superficial definitions of self-care to explore the gifts of heart, soul, mind, and strength.
This is my second full-length non-fiction book with Herald Press, and once again the cover is designed by Reuben Graham who did a wonderful job five years ago on the cover of Sacred Pauses: Spiritual Practices for Personal Renewal.
I’ll soon be putting together a Four Gifts launch team, and am already planning a book give-away when the book is released this fall. But for now, I’m just enjoying the cover, and I hope you like it too. I love the concept and colours of the central image that suggests the four gifts and brings them together to form a cross. I love the informality of the title font, and the way the font for my name provides a subtle connection with my earlier book:
Four Gifts is already listed on my publisher’s website, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and I’m-not-sure-where-else, so this isn’t a dramatic cover reveal of any big secret, but I did want to share it with you. When the times comes, I’d love your help in getting the word out!
